Me-time at Håholmen…

March 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

…is the best spent time, even if it is work-related. This little dot on the map, so close to home, and still you feel like walking on foreign land in another time-zone. My dad grew up right across on the main land, and little did he know how this place would develop.

Looking through my fathers papers I found his notes from the opening of the center, June 23. 1984. My mum got the first ticket. Almost 1000 people came to the opening and there were food and dance. I remember my father talking about meeting old friends and relatives. Clearly the happening of the year.

This is a beautiful place during summer and even more exiting in the winter, and there are  people coming from all over the world to visit. The place is so special and the food and service is excellent.

I have almost finished stuffing my binders with photos. Moving forward we are pulling 100 photos to put in our catagori drawers. That will be a challenge and I can`t wait to get started. I have listened and I have read Stacy Julians handouts for the week, but I will do that ones more before I start. It is a little difficult to decide how I want this system to work for me. To make it my own.

What to do in a storm….

Atlanterhavsveien 12/10-2008, originally uploaded by Tormod.

Me – I stay inside. Put the heat up in my room and play with my photos. Tormod and Kjellaug are far more adventures. They take the camera out to the Atlantic Road trying to catch the waves. Maybe that is better for the soul – I don`t know…

Tor has been here both Friday and last night  setting up my new computer. I think everything works now. It takes time to get used to all that is knew for me. It took me almost one hour to make a print from a word document, so I am no computer – wizard.  But that is okay, I do fine when everything is in order.

I have finished the second assignment in week two – Design Your Life. I could not find the photo program I use.  I think I overdid the straightening, because it looks a little out of order.

The layout is focusing Kristian at the day of wedding. He had ice cream for breakfast with his daddy before his grandma changed him into a tux. Man….did he look good.

We also got a color inspiration this weekend. We were supposed to do a two page 8×8, but I have used all afternoon trying to get one page done. I am not so sure I want anyone to see. I will have to think about that.

We spent some time on The Atlantic Road….

July 25, 2008 · 1 Comment

…photographing today. My nephew Tor was so kind to take me out there so I could use my camera somewhere outside my doorsteps. I had fun, but of all the photos taken, I only got a few that I was happy with. Among all the tourists at the Atlantic Road today I met this little happy guy;

One more happy tourist.

Tourist?...No, I think I know this guy....

Freedom Friday challenge was Tina Bennett’s to give. And what a fun challenge that was. I picked the only photo I was happy with today. Not because it was good but because I liked it.

Tomorrow I will read the small print in Barbaras lessons.

My nephew – the camera freak….

I stole this photo from Tor Helges flicre account. He has turned into a camera freak and I love that fact. One of this days he got to take his old aunt out on a photo safari. Maybe if I am paying enough…..

I made my card numero 19 today. Tena Spenger showed us how to make our own transparencies. A good thing to know. I bought a pack of sheets going in to this class, and I never would have thougt about doing this. I am in “the mood” to night and focused on kissing….

Jan and Linda – kissing during their first dance as husband and wife.

I have stayed out of the funny department  today, and I had a good day. I need to think more about this class before going in again. The weather is still bad and there is no summer to see out there.
