Can you draw?

June 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Not me. I never mastered the art of drawing. Even as a kid I could be found sitting with a blank paper unable to  make a decision about where to draw the line. I can remember having anxiety attacks at school when we were told to draw. June seems to be the month for colors in the world of scrapbooking. Everywhere I look it`s all about colors. Drawing, colors and me are no happy triangle. That`s okay.

You can find funny things when you spend time decluttering in your cabinets. Like evidence of a good try fighting back the demons from your childhood fears of drawing…

15 minutes…

…of decluttering is my new obsession. I have no idea how I manage to hoard so much clutter. Me – who rearly shops for anything – other than beautiful paper and scrabooking stash. :) . I love Aby Garvey`s approach on how to get organized. I did get a taste of her teaching in the Big Picture Scrapbooking class:  Get Organized – Be Inspired. Of course, I did not have the ability to adopt that knowledge to the rest of my home.

1-decluttering

Since I organized my workspace in January I have been overlooking the projeckts I didn`t know where to put. They have been living in peace on my coach ever since. 15 minutes later it`s all gone…

At least I am moving forward. Okay – I am doing great progress and I am proud of it!

About to finish the Load challenge, Lisa Day challenged us to use our stash. She is going for 60 layouts before shopping for new stash. Easy for her to say. :) I bet she has a lot of stash. Not like me who purge the most of mine during GOBI. Still, I don`t need much stash to work, so I take her up on the challenge and going for 60 like her. The challenge are open for everyone. Lisa has set up a Flicre group where everyone can join: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1095822@N24/

Decluttering…

In my living room I have a desk. I don`t use that desk. It`s sitting there collecting clutter. This evening I took a deep breath and emptied the drawers. You can find a lot of good stuff in drawers. :)

I also found a CD with old photos. Okay – I found a lot of CD`s and I had to look through every one to be sure what was stored there. Sometime during the early 5o`s someone had a great road trip – meeting some really interesting characters…

Siblings…

1-1 siblings

This evening I had one of those moments of inspiration. Not for the layout design but for the story this layout could tell. Those three siblings and the years between…but, that is not my story to tell.

It is day 27 in the Load challenge and I`m still hanging in there. I love Lain Ehmann`s Load challenge. Committing to make a layout every day for a month seems like a crazy thing to do, and to be honest I have no idea why I sign up to do this. But I cannot stop my self from doing so. The month of May is the worst time ever to do this and yet I am almost at the finish line. That makes me feel good. Finishing is a good thing, whatever you finish.

About finishing. I had to sign up for Aby Garvey`s free workshop; I don`t know where to start… at Simplify 101. It is a workshop meant to give you a taste of Aby`s other workshop. This free taste is all about decluttering your home. I am good at decluttering when inspired, and I`m even better with deadlines.

There isn`t much storage space in my home. So I am asking my self why I would buy and storage this thing?

Day 2 - What was I thinking

Five years – and I have never used this – and I had no knowledge that I owned it.
