December 15…

…The second Sunday in Advent there were no Sunday Adventures for the kids because grandma had other priorities. Or you might say that she was out on her own Sunday Adventure :)

Well – there are no grandchildren in Trondheim – yet, but the young ones do need help with their new home. Grandma is working hard here just in case there will be grandchildren in the near future. And if you ever doubted that the young ones needed help? Please don`t…

It must be nice to play with your new I-phone while your mother work her butt off :)

There is one missing in this Christmas tale…

The third Musketeer – Tor Magnus. Our baby. Six months old.

Since he still have some issues with his health we wanted to keep him safe until we had our flu shot. Yes we are a little overprotective :) Remember – we cancelled our vacation for the same reason…

Anyway – the baby is crawling now and he is a lot earlier than his brother and sister. Issues or not – he appear very vibrant and ready to join the party.

My Christmas journal did not turn out like I planned it. Much because of this little guy.  Usually I get to peak into the kids life almost every day. Now – because we wanted him safe I had to find another way of doing it and I love how the album is coming along.  The great thing about this MM album – is that it have room for a lot of pages :)

Okay – we are ready to attack the tree!

Lost in space…

…I came home from work hours ago and sat down to look for an idea for a mini album. I have a few french blog I like to visit  for ideas because the french are good with mini albums. So good… that I never got started with mine:) Okay, making mini albums one week before Christmas was not a good idea anyway.

The rain has been pouring down all day. No snow in sight, but I could see a snow star in the weather forecast towards the weekend so there is hope. I don`t like snow that much but Christmas is not the same without it.

Maybe it`s a good thing the snow melted because I don`t think everyone was prepared for the snow?

Yes – it is all about Christmas food these days. Food. Food. Food everywhere.

I got a question about the paper I use in my Christmas album. It is from  3andypapir.  A Norwegian company. The designer is Gudrun Lonnecken and she should be well-known in  the scrapbooking community. Her  blog is well worth visiting.

It is time for bed. Tomorrow is another day with food, food and more food…

…With the tree safely secured outside the house (ready to be debugged – do you know how many bugs follow the tree inside?) the kids insisted to get the gear out of the shed…

…while the cat watch the circus from the porch…

…wondering what the stupid people are doing…

…Kristian is so funny because he insists to be pulled down the hill :)

After a long weekend it is time to go back to the crazy life at work and we are almost at the point were we can start the countdown to Christmas Eve. But until then we have a lot of groceries to sell so you better stock up:)

The third Sunday in Advent…

December 13, 2009 · 3 Comments

…and it is a grey and rainy day outside my window.  It doesn`t matter much does it? As long as the tree is in the house and most of the gift shopping is under control. I know that if I had to take the car out in the morning I would appreciate that all the snow were gone.  Although – I love to have snow  during Christmas:)

Elin and Kristian have been busy today. I got a report saying that the tree are  under control and the gingerbread house is in the works.

Kids are funny. Instead of walking around she goes down on her belly and crawl under the tree.

Me? I wrapped the last Advent gift.

I January I will start preparing for next Advent. I swear I will. This year I had to make the same gift for both of the kids. They are very aware about getting the same thing. He will not have anything to do with pink - she may love pink but not so girly. The problem is the third member of the clan. He will be one and a half next Christmas and have to be counted for. With two older siblings – will he want the same thing as they? Hm…

New Years Eve 2008. Kristian was fascinated with the fireworks, scared and fascinated. I had an accident when I scanned the layout and cut some edges short but it looks good in the album:) Still have some photos from last Christmas that need to go into the children’s album but I only work with this if I am inspired. These days inspiration hits more often than not.

I have also done some thinking about 2010. Three things for sure: I am taking  Aby Garvey`s “How to achieve your goals” class at Simplify 101. I made this decision long time ago. That class start January 5 and runs to March 2. I love Aby`s teaching and the support you receive on the message board. I`m looking forward to start that session.

I also signed up for Cathy Zielske`s “Design your life” at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I did this class the last time it run and I loved it. It`s the same class but I still have a lot to learn from Cathy. I highly recommend everyone to take this class. You will love Cathy`s teaching.

Third, I will work on my LOM system. There are still no sign up for this class at BPS but one of these days it will show up. Stacy Julian use to let you sign up for free the second time arround. I finished this class in the spring and I have my system up and working but I would like to spend some time on refining it.

And there is always time for the things I want to do :)

…Our little guys are like most siblings, but sometimes they can work together…

…you might be fooled to believe that grandma was the target here, but she is able to make her own snow :)

…I hope the kids – some day in the future – will be thankful for having a playful grandmother. I mean; it would be pretty boring if they had to settle with the rest of us.

It`s time to go home and defrost…

Today we are celebrating Santa Lucia. Me? I will finish cleaning after yesterdays adventures in the kitchen, wrap the last advent gifts and gather energy for next week. The energy will be needed.

…Did it again…hit delete while uploading to the computer. The last time I did this my brother was able to retrieve the photos from the memory card. This time it`s not important enough to go through the trouble doing so. I will just file the miss as a mishap and move on. Although I did take som pretty darn cute photos of my Christmas cookies in the oven:)

At one side of my kitchen there is a Christmas party going on right now…

On the other side of my kitchen – yeah, another Christmas party…

Inside the kitchen?

Well, after eating half of the Christmas cookies, I am planning on an early night :)

…And it`s only 12 days left to get prepared. Are you ready? I like to think I am. Then again – daydreaming is my favourite waste of time:)

We finally left the idea of having the Christmas card photo taken and moved on to the fun part…

Look at him – grabbing his big sisters hand…

…and look at him – smiling.

So – what to do this third weekend in Advent? Wrap gifts? Make Christmas cookies? Laundry? What to do with all this free time?

…We don`t give up the Christmas card photo. Grandpa found just the right position. We took the kids in a circle to avoid making tracks in the snow…set, ready, go…

…we would have been fine – if only…

…we hadn`t given Elin a gum and if grandma had stopped distracting Kristian.

But hey – we are not perfect.

I survived the flu shot,  my arm is better and I`m almost done with the Christmas shopping. I was very pleased with myself when I came home this evening. Except there are no water in my home! F…machines probably cut my water supply.

December 9…

…With all this beautiful scenery – snow filled trees, blue sky and cute kids – wouldn`t you go for the Christmas card photo? I did. Over and over again. We have learned that it is not easy with one kid, it`s almost impossible with two and no – we are not bringing the third one into this. How about if we did one child per year?

Still – we tried…

Nope – he will not play with us.

But grandma wants to play…

Yes – she is cute but hardly no god for a Christmas card is she?

I don`t know why this is so challenging?  Because – give the boy a gum, tell him to make a face, and he is all over it…

well, we just have to keep working at it…
