Here at the northwest coast of Norway…

June 11, 2008 · 1 Comment

…we have another wet day, while other parts of the country have the biggest fire since World War II. Maybe it is connected with the fact that the Norwegian government just voted for a new wedding law that gives same sex marriages the same rights as man and woman. Good for them.

I was so happy to wake up and find a new “egg-challenge” in my mail today, and I loved the sketch. Always had difficulties using a sketch, mostly because my page seems to take on a life of its own and end up looking nothing like the sketch. Most of the time that is good; but sometime I really would have liked that my page looked like it was supposed to.

So, I had so much fun doing Darci`s sketch. I know she is wants us to make the sketch our own, but what do I care about that. These two weeks is all about me.

I had a bit of trouble using my egg 11 with the chosen picture. So what – the brown ribbonn with the polkadots suits Tor fine.:) Here he is with baby Elin in May 2005:

I had so much fun doing this so I had to make one more. This is a resent picture of baby Kristian and grandpa. Tormod think its time for the boy to take an interest in the music – oh yes…..

-this means trouble. Someone owns her grandfather and all the instruments – so, everyone get out of the way, here comes the boss….

..mine, all mine.

….maybe not so easy to handle?

Making those pages was so fun so I had to make one with grandma , and make it a two page spread: One of these days he is going to fit those boots just fine. (Like his dad).

I am on a roll today, so I made one more. This is my grandparents with all their grandchildren. The only one missing is Beate, she was not born yet. I am sitting on my grandmothers lap, not very happy with the photo session.

That’s it for today. I am going to do the last read up on my…becoming more – class. To morrow there are a new handout so I better be ready.

At the end of a long weekend…

May 12, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Love.

between siblings can be a challenge and an adventure.

This should have been a day for outdoor adventures, but the weather has been cold and windy. I have done nothing practical today. No cleaning as I should have done. One day of pure enjoyment for this girl today.

I have read through the first part of my class at Big Picture Scrapbooking; yet again. So I am ready for new assignments tomorrow. And I finally did something with this frame I got from my brother and his wife a few months ago. It was difficult to take a photo of it after I put the glass in, but it looks good in real life.

Jan and Tor with girlfriends.

While reading through all this stuff again, I printed out all the quotes all over again. There was ink left in my printer, but not enough to print photos. And I do have a lot of left over paper. The quotes are so beautiful and meaningful that I want to share them with someone I care for.

I made a library pocket and added some paper on the front and put the quotes inside.

No scrapbooking to day…

May 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Instead I and my family have been celebrating Marte on her big day. It seems like yesterday she was this tiny little baby girl curling up in my lap. She was such a sweet loving little girl and now she is ready to take a leap in to the future. We all wish her the very best.

Kristian is good with this party thing. He was all over the place partying like there was no day tomorrow.

Here you can see some of the female guests dressed in the Norwegian national outfit. They are looking good, don’t they?

Days like this is so special, they make you think about the past and the future. Looking at those little ones just starting out – our hope for the next generation. -The youth, just mapping out how they want their future to look like. -The young couples, just starting out with homes and family. -The grandparents, so proud of what they have accomplished.

At last, those who is no longer with us.

She would have been so proud to day.
