Revisiting The Art of Becoming More…

January 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I did The Art of Becoming More with Kolette and Jason last year and now was a good time to look at the goals I sat during that class.

1. Working less

2. Losing weight

3. Learn something new

Okay. I did good…

Working less was my main thing last year, and I think I have succeeded reaching that goal. And that feels good. I don’t see a need to put that one on my list for 2009.

Losing weight and eating healthier – did not happen at all. Did I forget? No, I just overlooked that one. That was not a good choice, but a choice I can live with. Hmm…that means I have to drag that goal all the way into 2009.

Learn something new. I did, I did. I learned a lot in 2008. Finding the courage to take the opportunity to learn through the internet was a lucky choice for me. And I will keep doing that.

This tells me that one of my goals for 2009 will be eating healthier. I don’t want to focus on losing weight, mostly because there really isn’t that much weight to lose. I am just talking about feeling more comfort buying cloths.

It has been snowing all day. It is wet and I don’t think it will be there in a few days. I have been working on finishing my pages for my Christmas journal. I went back to work on the 27′Th and worked until New Year. I was planning to make an album featuring the highlights in 2008 for my brother and his wife for Christmas. Since my photo developer didn’t deliver at their end, I wasn’t able to finish. I used the evenings between Christmas and New Year to finish the album. So I cut my journal short and did 28, 29, and 30 into one page highlighting the album.

On December 26 grandpa and grandpa had the pleasure of giving the grandchildren the “cars”. So – maybe the adults had more fun than the kids – but who cares…

Elin had to try the car outside and she did have FUN.

I have a bad habit…

August 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

…before going to bed I always search my favourite blogs. Sometimes that takes me in to the early morning and that’s the bad thing. The rest is my pleasure. I was so happy to find out that Kolette Hall has gone blogging. I am so looking forward to follow her input in the world of blogging.

I have finished one more mini scrapbook for my BPS class. This one is all about a summer day in young baby Kristian`s life.

Mini scrapbook about Kristian`s day of July 16 2008.

The wedding is over…

July 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

…and tonight I have been working hard to catch up with my classes at BPS. A lot is happening in a few days when you take two classes at the time. And the third is starting in three days. I almost finished.  I have uploaded  my cards in my flicre account and here you can see the layout for “freedom Friday” at “Having more fun” with Stacy Julian.

Baby Elin is having a ball celebrating her grandmothers 50Th birthday last August. Hide and seek was one of her favourite thing to do last year.

She did a great job as a bridesmaid at the wedding:

A little tired, but supercute.

Learning something new…

July 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

…every day.

When I got my list for supplies from Big Picture scrapbooking for the 52 Pick Up classes it said: get a brayer. I had no clue what a brayer was or how to use it. As the good girl I am I bought one online, but after seeing Tenas video on how to use a brayer it became clear that mine was BIG….It worked great for glueing the photos. I never thought of that. Now I don’t have put my fingerprints all over the photo. I did my card anyway. Used some paint, the mask from Heidi Swapp I never knew I had and some stamps. Since I mostly thinking about weddings these days I made it all about love.

With all the cute photos I found last night I just had to make one more layout of Elin and her great grandmother. They are so cute together. I am so looking forward seeing them again this weekend. This is from last summer and I made this with white space which was one of the challenges at Scrapping.no. Now there are only two left to do of those ten layouts.

I never heard my wake up call today, so I better get into bed. My boss is coming for a round of inspection tomorrow. Maybe I just tell him I am to busy with my scrapping? :)

The last assignment…

May 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The last project in the first part of my BPS class is done. This was just a small project at the end of the first part and came out looking like this:

All this talk about roots reminds me of a family story.  My grandparents were given silver as a wedding present in 1927. This was later given to my aunt. When she wanted to sell it so she could buy something else she wanted, one of her children looked at her and said: you can not sell our roots.

That Christmas every one of us was given a silver spoon with a tag saying;

This is your roots.

Somehow this story is connected with what I am working on at the moment.

I am my own…

work in progress….

.

I had this quote with me all day. When I opened my email this morning, this was the first thing that welcomed me. I like this one. You can put everything into it.

I printed it out and carried it with me all day. Maybe it got to be too much for me because when I came home I fell asleep at 5 pm and woke up at 23 pm. Hopefully I get to sleep again before I have to go to work.

This class I am taking keeps surprising me. Kolette is following up on every one of her students. I never did an online class before and it really surprised me how close she is working whit us. She is commenting on our work and our thoughts, and she is there coaching us. She is also available if we needs help progressing. I think I love this lady (and her husband).

Of great value..

May 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have worked with my first assignment for BPS class most of the weekend. Besides actually working that is. It is in my head all the time. And it is clear to me what my biggest challenge is. I cannot focus on more than one thing at the time. My mother used to say that she was glad I lived alone and had no children. That would have made my life (very) difficult.

Some say that men are bad at multi tasking. Then I guess I have to much male hormones flowing around.

I have joined a group at Scrapping.no that is getting together to loose weight and get fit. There is only one problem with that; -then I would have no time for anything else. Hopefully Kolette will give us some clue of how to focus on our goals.

I will share our first art assignment for this class. It is supposed to show the things we value the most right now. The written testimonials I will share in the classroom. Most of it is very private and will probably stay in the drawer.
