New baby and no photos…
May 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment
How do I feel about that? I am a little hurt. I am a little pissed. And I know someone who is walking very close to the edge of my last will and testament. That`s okay – someone prefer the life on the edge.
edit; Thanks. You are back on the list.
What else? The Library of Memories class is coming to an end. These last weeks we are supposed to work from our categories. The system is new to me, but I feel that I already have covered the different categories and I know how to work the connections you find along the way.So I am not inspired to work with this right now. I know this is an ongoing process and I`m up to date with my photos. Still have some work to do prior to the digital camera, but I will use the time I need to do that properly.
I am still following Kolette and Jason Hall`s yearlong class; A life Well Crafted. Kolette and Jason have a lot of wisdom to share, but right now I do find it hard to adopt Kolettes projects. For some reason I find it difficult to translate the words to Norwegian. The words and sentiments that sounds so good in English is just awful in Norwegian. At least in these parts of Norway. ( We hardly talk Norwegian)
I can see the end of the Load challenge. It`s always hard to hang in there at the end. Suddenly there are no photo`s, even if I got 600 new ones in the mail yesterday. There are no untold stories, even if there are hundreds of them. No paper, no sketches, no embellish, no ideas…. You just got a feeling of burned out at the end. The sad thing is to leave this wonderful group of girls. I have never found a community like this on-line before. They are just great.
Now my sister in law and I have one more thing in common- we are both “super-aunts” – or great aunts, but that sounds really old….

I celebrate myself…

.
Design; Kolette Hall – A Life Well Crafted_BPS.
…honestly, I do – everyday.
Maybe a little too much sometimes. Besides celebrating myself and my job – I have set up my category drawers for my LOM-system today. I have worked on that this last week. Going back and forth. It was hard to make this system work for me since I don`t have a family of my own. In the end I had to set aside Stacy`s teaching and make categories suiting my needs. Finished they look allot like Stacy`s, I just had to make a place for myself in there. Tomorrow I will go through my binders and pull 100 more photos and put them into the categories. I love how easy it is to decide where to put the photos.
BUT…I feel no inspiration to scrapbook. Could be a good thing. Maybe it is meant to be, so I can make time for some cleaning….
Remember – celebrate your self.

A Life Well Crafted…

This was supposed to be a 5 x 8.5 album. They couldn`t be found in Norway. I could have used any album, but with the quality of this old photos that would be bad. So I used a 4 x 6 one up album. It turned out quit well.

Attribute album…
January 11, 2009 · Leave a Comment
We have had shitty weather the whole weekend. So…what to do a Sunday afternoon? This month`s project in the BPS class; A life well crafted is to make an attribute album. We can make this album for who ever we want, but Kolette suggested that we make one for our self. It was a good idea and I was going to make one – for someone – just not myself. It`s not very Norwegian to say nice things about yourself.
Anyway, I knew I would be in deep shit from the beginning. There isn`t that many photos of me. And for some reason most of them shows me….and a bottle of beer and a smoke. Why is that…hm…I’ve been thinking about doing this for the last week, and after reading the files with attributes and quotes I was inspired to work on this. Almost half done now. Nothing to show yet. I might not be courage’s enough to make it public.
Even with the shitty weather we had, grandma and Elin Marie have been on the school playground, spending some fun time together. Grandpa? No he is not playing, he is photographing…
Kristian had to stay at home with mum and dad. but at dinnertime he is present. Ready to dig in some dessert.
Now…it is off to bed. Tomorrow is another Monday, a new week and new beginnings.

The end of Christmas journaling…
January 3, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Great Grandma Karen nitted Santas for all her children and grandchildren this Christmas. The great grandchildren put an end to Christmas by putting all the Santas to sleep. Nice touch.
I have enjoyed making my Christmas journal. Next year I will try to do more of Shimelle’s prompts, because they were good. But, sometimes there just isn’t enough time to work with challenges. You just have to go with whatever happens. I am looking forward to this again in December. If anyone wants to see all my pages you can find them in my Journal your Christmas set at flicre.

Kristian visiting grandma New Years day.
It has been fun to see the kids enjoying Christmas. Last year they were afraid of Santa and the firework. Now it was exiting and a little bit scary. This little boy knows he is going to be a big brother next Christmas, but I don’t think he realize that it means he won’t be mummies baby anymore.
I still need to set some goals for myself to work on in January. I do need to do more housework. I really don’t like cleaning, so I have decided to try the suggested baby steps. I will clean something – somewhere for 15 min. every day. I need one more goal. I will have to think about an easy one because cleaning for 15 min everyday will be hard for me.

Revisiting The Art of Becoming More…
January 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I did The Art of Becoming More with Kolette and Jason last year and now was a good time to look at the goals I sat during that class.
1. Working less
2. Losing weight
3. Learn something new
Okay. I did good…
Working less was my main thing last year, and I think I have succeeded reaching that goal. And that feels good. I don’t see a need to put that one on my list for 2009.
Losing weight and eating healthier – did not happen at all. Did I forget? No, I just overlooked that one. That was not a good choice, but a choice I can live with. Hmm…that means I have to drag that goal all the way into 2009.
Learn something new. I did, I did. I learned a lot in 2008. Finding the courage to take the opportunity to learn through the internet was a lucky choice for me. And I will keep doing that.
This tells me that one of my goals for 2009 will be eating healthier. I don’t want to focus on losing weight, mostly because there really isn’t that much weight to lose. I am just talking about feeling more comfort buying cloths.
It has been snowing all day. It is wet and I don’t think it will be there in a few days. I have been working on finishing my pages for my Christmas journal. I went back to work on the 27′Th and worked until New Year. I was planning to make an album featuring the highlights in 2008 for my brother and his wife for Christmas. Since my photo developer didn’t deliver at their end, I wasn’t able to finish. I used the evenings between Christmas and New Year to finish the album. So I cut my journal short and did 28, 29, and 30 into one page highlighting the album.

The days between Christmas and New Year
On December 26 grandpa and grandpa had the pleasure of giving the grandchildren the “cars”. So – maybe the adults had more fun than the kids – but who cares…

Elin had to try the car outside and she did have FUN.

Kristian liked this one best, and his feet were almost long enough...

Happy New Year…

Happy New Year…
It is something about starting a new year. I have always loved Mondays because it means a new week with new beginnings. I have tried to approach everyday with the same attitude, but I have not succeeded with that one.
I have no new year’s resolutions. I will have, but there will be no words about, stop, and not. I am not setting myself up for failure. I have a feeling it will be about losing some weight, to move my body outside, to do more work around the house – just the usual boring things.
I am starting the new year joining Kolette and Jason Hall at Big Picture Scrapbooking in their yearlong class; A life Well Crafted. I have enjoyed their first audio this evening. And as always they give me a lot to think about. I should have been prepared to be asked to choose three goals for 2009, but I was not. So I guess this will be spinning around in my head for the rest of the week. Okay, maybe the first one is ready to launch; I do need to lose some weight. Not so much. Just a little bit. I might be able to make it about eating healthier, although I am not so sure what would be easiest. I think I found one goal, two to go…
I also joined Wendy Smedley’s class; Get Organized and Be Inspired at Big Picture Scrapbooking. I need some insight on how to organize my workspace. Shouldn’t be so much stress because I don’t have that much to organize. And for that I am thankful.
Sometime this weekend I will have to finish my Christmas journal. Just a few pages left to do. Sunday I have to do stock at work, but Monday I should be back in action.

Glimts from Christmas Eve

” A life well crafted”…
November 6, 2008 · 2 Comments
I got so exited about Kolette Hall posting the Pre Work projects for the class at BPS tonight that I almost forgot blogging. The albums, the templates are so beautiful. I can`t wait to get started. Sometimes it is difficult to find all the products needed. I know we can substitute, but it is nice to have the products found on the supply list. And Kolette, being the great designer she is, creates beautiful things with them.
I did work on this weeks sketches for the DYL class, both of them. Almost finished the first one and I picked the photos for the second. Then my printer stopped cooperating. So this is just a little sneak peak.
I had problems deciding how to match this wedding photos with card-stock. I better sleep on this big decision:)

A life well crafted….
October 21, 2008 · 1 Comment
I spent some time reading up on some blogs I like to follow. It never stops to amaze me how many creative and smart people there is in the world. I can spend hours reading. Just wish I had it in me to follow up on all the ideas this is giving me. But rather than doing something, I seem to consume the ideas and forget all about it. And I move on….
I have been reading up on Jason Hall`s blog today. He is an excellent storyteller and he always has a deeper meaning with his story and in the end he has a word of advice. The best thing about it, I get what he is saying. That does not mean I am capable of follow up on his advice but sometimes during the day I can hear his voice in the back of my head.
Jason Hall was teaching along his wife Kolette in the Big Picture Scrapbooking class; the art of becoming more…, earlier this year. So when I say I can hear his voice, I really can. Coming January 1Th the two of them start a new class that will run through the whole year. I think this will be an amazing journey for everyone joining them.
You can see the class here: A life well crafted at BPS….and go read Jason Hall`s blog.
And then there is some scrapbooking. I finished the second assignment for week 3 – DYL.
Great grandma Karen is tutoring baby Kristian in the art of drawing.
